Event Note
In 1851 Thomas Davies was working as a farmer, with the owner of the farm a Thomas Dobs, at that time a seventy eight year old man living with the family. Family folklore has it, that Thomas Dobs was a landowner who had bought property in Wales uin the 1840. He apparently did so to recover from a broken engagement in England. The census confirms this, see gallery for Thomas Dods 1841. Other stories include a tale he was fighting in Waterloo. |
